"Running for regional office is an experience that is very nerve racking during the process, but once it is over you will be happy that you did it even if you don’t win! I didn’t win, but it helped me conquer my fear of public speaking. No matter what, you leave the weekend a stronger person than you did before. This experience, if you are more of an introvert, forces you to step out of your comfort zone. At first, I admit, it was not fun, because I liked my comfort zone. However, being pushed passed that limit is what made me have as much fun as I did. I was able to bring back my more social self, and it allowed me to become a better chapter officer."

"As a member of Phi Theta Kappa, you are able to experience things that you never have before. Three times a year you are given the possibility to attend a regional meeting somewhere in the state, and, a fourth time at the International Convention. The hardest thing to realize when you attend your first regional meeting is that you have gained a family, your Phi Theta Kappa family. Everyone takes you under their wings and will already call you their friend solely for being a part of the Region."
